I had the good fortune to sit down with “Skipper Sandra”, Sandra Breuer while I was at the Lincoln City Cultural Center and chat about the PNW Community Coral Reef. Enjoy!

As a fiber artist, I find my inspiration at the nexus of science, nature, form and texture. I am fascinated by the mathematics involved in hyperbolic crocheted forms as well as the process of researching plants and animals and imagining ways to create them through weaving, knitting and crochet. My fiber art coral pieces recreate a world that is infinitely complex, interdependent, and under threat by pollutants and climate change. My goal is to fascinate, inspire, and create change.
